This weekend the annual Brogdale Apple Festival will be celebrating over 2,200 different varieties of apples!

Its an amazing event which gives you the chance to see hundreds of different apple and pear varieties and of course taste and buy them!

Theres loads to learn this weekend, go on a guided tour either by foot or tractor trailer exploring the history behind the world of fruit we know today. In addition to this, the event is hosting various rural talks and demonstrations. Celebrity guest James Wong; Kew Trained Botanist will also be visiting the festival in order to share all his horticultural knowledge.

Dr Joan Morgan also known as “the apple doctor” (author of The New Book of Apples) will be identifying apple and pear samples over the weekend and giving advice on all aspects of growing fruit with her team of experts.

If that wasn’t enough there will be festive music, entertainment and local produce for you to taste and buy.


Make sure you don’t miss the the ever popular Brogdale pie eating competition! Apple pies and cream will be on the menu for a “no-hands” contest to crown the fastest competitor.


This really is a great foodie day out and with children’s crafts and entertainment it can be fun for all the family!
