There’s one thing to wholeheartedly recommend this month and that’s Kentish apples. In particular, the Rubens apple.

It’s a very diverse apple – not just a great tasting snack raw, but a fantastic cooking apple as well. We’ve currently got it featured on the menus of both The Windmill and Pearson’s Arms.

The Rubens is only grown in Kent in this country (it originates from Italy) and the orchards we receive the apples from are just 5 miles from the front door of The Windmill. Rubens
